Real Talk: Men, Waxing, and What to Expect at The Cat House

One of the most common questions I get is:
“Do men really wax?”
YES — they do! In fact, 46% of men (across all ages, ethnicities, and income levels) get waxed, and 69% manscape or shave. Male waxing is not just a thing — it’s normal, it’s growing, and it’s welcome here.

Another concern? Age.
No, you are absolutely not too old to wax! I have many amazing clients over 60. The majority of my clientele range from 20 to 60, and trust me — every body is welcome.

Worried you're too hairy? Not even close. I’ve seen it all — all shapes, sizes, and anatomy. At The Cat House, waxing is a professional, body-positive service. We all have genitals. To me, it’s simply biology — not a big deal.

Another common question: “Do I need to prep for my wax?”
Nope! Just make sure your hair is at least 1/4 inch long — about the size of a grain of rice. That’s it.
However, for the best results (and fewer ingrowns), a little TLC goes a long way:
✨ Exfoliate beforehand with a loofah or, even better, our Lycon Intimate Exfoliant.
✨ Moisturize with our Lycon Intimate Moisturizer to keep skin soft and healthy.
✨ Ask us about our Lycon Intimate Wash — it’s amazing for genital health and keeps things fresh all day.
✨ And don’t forget to exfoliate again 3 days after waxing to help prevent ingrown hairs.

Let’s also address the Brazilian Boner.
Yes, it happens — and it’s biological. Arousal can be a response to nerves or fear in both men and women. It typically fades during the service. On rare occasions, ejaculation can occur. Again — biological. If it happens, just ask for a towel. We clean up and move on. No shame.

Some quick waxing tips:

  • Do not trim. If the hair’s bulky, I’ll handle the trimming to prevent matting.

  • You do not need to be erect for a Brazilian wax — in fact, it makes it more painful! Increased blood flow to the area actually intensifies discomfort. If needed, I’ll guide you to help tauten the skin safely and professionally.

⚠️ And let me be 100% clear:
Any requests for “happy endings” or genital massage will get you banned immediately. That is not what we do here — and it's not just inappropriate, it's illegal. We are a professional waxing and esthetics studio, and we expect the same respect we give our incredible clients.

Men — it’s okay to talk about waxing, grooming, and self-care. In fact, we encourage it. At The Cat House, we’re here to make you feel confident, comfortable, and cared for.
